Wedding Hair Styles Should Be Carefully Planned

You have probably dreamt of your wedding day and how you will look.You envision the wedding location, your gown and bouquet, your groom, and the decorations. You’ve more than likely envisioned yourself with varying wedding hairstyles, wondering which one you’d choose on that special day.

Now it’s here, and the time to decide on a hair style for your wedding is now. But before you simply look at a picture in a magazine or a web site and choose a style, there’s some things you’ll need to do first.

Before getting your heart set on one style, address your hair’s condition. The most elegant hair style in the world won’t make up for lusterless hair accented with poor color, split ends and dandruff. Improving your hair may require anything from a basic conditioning program to a complete makeover, including color changes or a full permanent.

Have an initial consultation with a stylist about three months before your wedding, and remember to take your veil or headpiece along. Try several different wedding hairstyles so you can make an informed choice. Then arrange for a styling“run-through” three to four weeks before the big day. Take photos of the resulting hairstyle so your stylist can more easily duplicate it on for your wedding day.

Once you’ve selected a wedding hairstyles that’s right for you, work with your stylist to develop a maintenance program so your hair retains its health and beauty.Confer about any accessories, like your veil or tiara, that you’ll need to bring along for the wedding-day appointment.

Although it’s traditional for a bride’s hair to be worn up, you have many options when it comes to wedding hair styles. But only a few will spotlight your beauty,complement your wedding attire and keep you recognizable to groom and guests.

If you have medium to long hair, there are many options to choose from — buns, French braids, chignons and others. If you have shorter hair, consider a slicked-back look or accessories like bows, clips and combs. You also could let the layers to grow out so they can be pulled back or up, then comfortably fastened.

Few brides want radical changes made for their wedding hairstyles. But good enhancements don’t have to be revolutionary. Planning and discreet experimentation are your keys to making the right choices. Highlights, curls, subtle trims or creative layering can add luster to your hair and your day. Do your experimenting at least 30 days before the wedding so you and your stylist can make necessary corrections.

Your headpiece choices are as vast as your wedding hairstyles. Your hair style should be a major factor in choosing a veil or headpiece. If it’s elaborate,you’re better off with a simpler veil or headpiece. But if your hair will be simple,you can choose something more prominent. Above all, the dress, veil or headpiece, and hair style should be consistent and comfortable.

With careful wedding planning and attention, your celebration won’t be the bad hair day of your nightmares. Instead, you’ll look and feel your best – and your hair will, too.
